REGISTRATION FEE

Why are there registration fees?

  • Registration fees allow SBDC to give member driven support for selected organizations through seasonal registration fees.

How much is the registration fee?

  • For the Spring 2024 SBDC Season registration fees are 50 USD per member.

How is my registration fee used?

  • The majority of member registration fees are given to various, member identified charitable organizations. The remainder of your registration fee goes towards purchasing your t-shirt, equipment, supplies, and other costs associated with running the league. SBDC encourages you to visit the financials tab on our webpage for the most recent financial report.

When do returning players have to pay the registration fee?

  • Returning players should pay their registration fee through LeagueApps during the registration process. If a player chooses not to pay at that time, then they will have until 6pm EST the day before new player registration opens. For the upcoming season that cutoff is 6pm EST Sunday, January 28, 2024. If a player has an outstanding balance after the cutoff time, they will forfeit their spot on the league and that spot will become available for anyone to register during open enrollment.

When do new players have to pay the registration fee?

  • New players should pay their registration fee through LeagueApps during the registration process. If a player chooses not to pay at that time, then they will have until 9am the day after new player registration closes. For the upcoming season that cutoff is 9am EST Tuesday, January 30, 2024. If a player still has an outstanding balance at that time, they will forfeit their spot on the league and that spot will become available to players able to make immediate payment on the waitlist.

Do I have to pay the registration fee?

  • Members of the SBDC league are required to pay the current registration fee associated with the season they are registered to play in. While the fee for many SBDC members does not present a financial burden, the league is aware that for others this fee could be a barrier to joining. If you are unable to participate due to financial hardship please reach out directly to the SBDC Pit Crew to discuss your situation.

Problems Processing Payments

  • Sometimes programming glitches, tech malfunctions happen, or human error occurs but rest assured the SBDC Pit Crew is here to help resolve the issue. It is important for the Pit Crew to know about these issues so we can address the root cause though. If you suspect an issue please let the Pit Crew know asap.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Who is eligible to register during returning player registration?

  • Status as a returning player is achieved if you were registered for the most recently played season.

Who is considered a new player?

  • A new player is classified as anyone who was not registered in the season played immediately before the registration period.

I was a registered SBDC player in a season prior to July 2023, am I considered a returning player for registration purposes?

  • Unfortunately, not. Only registered players from Season 22 which began playing in September 2023 are currently considered returning players. We’d love to welcome you back and hope that you are successful in securing a spot when new player registration opens.

How can someone increase their chances at becoming a new, registered player for the upcoming season?

  • There are a few ways but first and foremost create your LeagueApps profile before new player registration opens. A "Sign Up" link is in the upper right hand corner of the SBDC homepage. If you already have a LeagueApps account, but it’s been a while since you’ve logged in, make sure you test your login credentials before new player registration opens using the "Sign In" link in the upper right hand corner of the SBDC homepage. After that make sure to follow our SBDC’s Facebook or Instagram to learn about upcoming opportunities where you can meet others in the larger SBDC community.

TEAM STATUS

How many members are needed to form a team?

  • Teams are required to have a minimum of 15 registered players.

Is there a maximum number of individuals a team may have?

  • Teams may not have more than 20 registered players.

My team won't have 15 players by the end of returning player registration, what do we do?

  • Teams that have not met the minimum number of registered players during returning player registration are strongly encouraged to have at least one team member attend the new player mixer held the week prior to open enrollment to recruit members to your team so you are able to achieve team status. If no one from your team is able to attend the mixer then SBDC recommends that the team captain and members leverage social media to potentially solicit new members.

Is there a place where I can easily see and invite a registered free agent to my team?

  • Currently registered players can view a list of available free agents that are eligible to join a team from your LeagueApps dashboard. After logging into LeagueApps you can navigate to the free agents section directly from the dashboard by selecting the upcoming bocce season under “Program”, then select the “Players” tab located in the column on the right-hand side of the page, then select the Free Agent label from the “Role” drop down list and then select the filter button to get a list and if desired invite that player to your team.

How are teams created and why are they sometimes dissolved?

  • While any returning player(s) or captain can form a team during any of the three registration windows only the top 58 teams ranked by either number of currently registered players at the end of new player registration or once the leaguewide player cap is reached, which ever happens first, will have a guaranteed team in the upcoming season. If your team does not achieve guaranteed team status at the end of the registration period, then SBDC Pit Crew will contact the team members to see how you’d like your team to dissolved and reassigned as free agents. When this happens teams commonly decide to be broken down into smaller and more manageable groups of two, three, or four players so you know at least one other person on your new team.

Could a team be required to take on a free agent(s)?

  • Yes. SBDC is an inclusive social league and all teams except those that have hit the max number of team player cap may be asked to welcome free agents. We encourage teams to have a discussion beforehand as to how many free agents your team can accept if asked. **Hint it should be at least one because 925 players into 58 teams equals 15.94 players per team.**
